Dreams (LeoxApril) Part 1

April’s Journal Entry:

Ever since the battle with Shredder and Kraang, we have been staying at my family’s old farmhouse we used to stay at during the summer.

When Leo woke up, he hasn’t been the same since.

His leg is broken despite Raph and Casey helping Leo with training sessions.

Leo still felt useless, beating himself up about how it wasn’t going to get better.

It wasn’t true, we were going to help Leo out every way we can. To show him, he was important to us.

Leo has been the leader of the group from the beginning, with us looking up to him for a plan to get us out of tough situations.

With him always having to fight to try to keep the weight of the world, from bearing down on his shoulders.

Continuously, worrying about losing his family and friends, the fear of failing and letting everyone he knows down.

Leo doesn’t want to make himself look weak around us though he needs to stop doing this to himself.

Donnie has been in the barn now his permanent lab working on a special medicine for Leo.
The medicine is going to help with the pain in Leo’s leg while it heals.  

This has to work for we are running out of options; if it does work, Leo might start to feel his old self again.

If not….well…I don’t even want to think about it. I hope that he gets better soon.

Leo and Raph were in the front yard working on training exercises to help bring strength back into Leo’s leg.

Flipping backwards in mid air to dodge one of Raph’s moves, Leo ends up landing on his hurt leg wrong. Holding his leg in pain rubbing it.

Raph runs over to Leo helping him up while wrapping Leo’s arm over his shoulder with Raph’s arm around Leo’s waist.

Walking Leo towards the farmhouse, opening the door then closing it with heel of his foot once they were both inside.

Raph was walking Leo upstairs heading towards his room, going inside moving the covers away in order for Leo to sit down at the edge of his bed.

Leo sighed as he carefully pulled his hurt leg onto the bed gritted his teeth together with his eyes tightly shut only to feel pain shot throughout his leg. As he gently adjusted it on the bed.

Then moved his other leg onto the bed laid down with the covers pulled over him.

Raph was placing a couple of pillows underneath Leo’s leg to help it be elevated to allow the blood flow.

He sighed again, gazed out the window next to his bed. Raph was looking at his older brother with melancholy eyes, knowing his brother was secretly hurting with nothing he could do about it.

“You need anything else Leo,” he asked.

Leo continued to gaze out the window though he did hear Raph asking him a question.

”No Raph, I’m fine, thanks though,” Leo said lazily.

Raph nodded, walked out of the room headed downstairs to sit down on the couch to watch some TV.

Outside in the barn, Donnie had been working since dawn working on the medicine for Leo’s leg.

While secretly creating a love potion for April to help him win over her heart.

Donnie had been writing down all the measurements of each chemical he has been using in his journal for both the potion and medicine.

As he was writing down his information, he accidentally elbows a vile he was using for the love potion over which ends up pouring out over the table with some drops going into Leo’s medicine.

The bottle glows a faint taint of lavender that quickly fades away, Donnie looks over to see he had made a mess.

Quickly cleaning off the table he was checking the vile to find there was still a good enough sample to the love potion.

Eventually, Donnie grabs the medicine bottle heading inside the farmhouse after placing a cape and label on the bottle.

Walking into the kitchen grabbing a glass of water and spoon. Donnie was heading upstairs towards Leo’s room feeling excited about this.

Knocking on the door waiting for Leo to say it was okay for him to come in.

Leo was sitting up in his bed eating some soup while April was grabbing the towels out of his bathroom.

She was going to doing the laundry when they both heard a knock on the door. April walks over to answer it with Leo watching to see Donnie on the other side. April moved out of the way to allow Donnie inside.

“What’s up Donnie,” asked April smiling brightly at him.

Donnie was showing them bottle he had been holding.

“This is what I have been working on for Leo. The medicine is ready for Leo to start taking now to help out with his pain,” explained Donnie grinning widely happy to be able to help Leo.

Leo was sitting up straighter it seemed to April while Donnie talked about the medicine. It had been weeks since she had seen Leo acting like this.

This put a smile upon April face. Donnie had already walked over to Leo’s side showing him the bottle giving it to him. Leo had taken it from Donnie looking it over, then looking at Donnie.

“Thanks Donnie, how much of this do I need to take,” asked Leo.

Donnie nodded, explained, “Anytime Leo, well only a spoonful of the medicine is required. The time now is 5:30 pm, every day at exactly 5:30 you need to keep taking it until it’s gone. Don’t over dose yourself with this medicine. The side effects known at this time is sleepiness, hallucinations, and headaches. Though if you experience anything else let me know all right."

While Donnie had been talking, April gave Leo the required amount of medicine as instructed. Leo had finished the water and nodded to Donnie.

“Of course Donnie I’ll make sure to tell you everything that isn’t right to me,” Leo reassured Donnie.

April started to adjust the pillows behind Leo’s shell then helped him lay down in bed. She had taken the soup bowl Leo had eaten before Donnie had walked in.

Leo was adjusting himself in bed to make him more comfortable as he was resting his head on his pillow.

April was covering Leo up with the blanket then grabbing the empty glass went into the bathroom filling it up with water again.

Walking back out she placed the glass back onto the night table, turning around to see Donnie was holding the laundry basket in his hands.

Donnie was waiting for April who had the medicine bottle and spoon in her hands walking out of the bedroom closing the door behind them.

They both were heading downstairs as April was walking into the kitchen placing the medicine bottle in one of the cabinets.

Donnie was handing her the basket then heading back out into the barn to continue his other project.

April sighed as she headed towards the laundry room to finish her chores.

Leo had been staring out the window for a minute or two before feeling sleepily. He started to doze off, then went into a deep sleep.
